With effortless installation, the XC8C is designed to provide a natural, superior sound. The XC8C can be used with many audio systems, including Xantech’s award-winning multi-room platform.

“The XC8C continues the Xantech tradition of designing products to the highest standard,” said Tom Gandulla, West Coast regional sales manager. “As residential structures continue to increase in square footage, we realized that the preferred in-ceiling speaker will migrate from the popular 6.5” to a larger 8” size. Not only will the 8” speaker fit in a large common room, the increased woofer size will give more bass and deliver additional value to any installation.” 

Easily reproducing sounds in the extended frequency range, the XC8C’s stiff, light, mineral-filled polypropylene woofer cones feature improved smoothness and frequency extension. A rubber half-roll surround dampens the cone to ensure long-term durability while aluminum woofer voice coils allow for increased power handling and add to the speaker’s longevity. The XC8C contains a pivoting silk dome tweeter with wide dispersion design and is Ferro-fluid cooled for a lasting listening pleasure.

Recently, Xantech introduced loudspeakers designed to deliver the ultimate in value and performance with perfected sound quality to please the most discriminating listener. The finished products evolved into three distinct model ranges: XTC Reference, the premium series, XTC and the value line called XC. Featuring weather-resistant construction, The XOD Series comes with a locking and pivoting bracket that allows it to blend into any environment while making installation fast and simple. The XOD Series’ smooth and sleek design reduces dust and dirt buildup, thus preserving its overall look and performance.  The XOD series is available in 6.5” and in a white finish.

The XOD Series’ rust-proof aluminum grill is securely attached with commercial grade adhesives that protect the audio drivers from the elements. In addition, the XOD Series comes equipped with premium gold-plated wire posts that were specifically designed to withstand harsh outdoor elements. The gold is corrosion-resistant and will maintain a reliable connection throughout years of use. The 5-way binding posts are knurled to help make installation quick and maintenance free.

Sylmar, Calif. – November 27, 2007 – Xantech Corporation has announced its HD16D, a one-in, six-out distribution amplifier featured in Xantech’s complete line of video distribution products, has been named a Consumer Electronics Association Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award honoree in the Multi-Room Audio/Video product category.

Judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade press, the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize the most innovative consumer electronic products in the industry. All honorees will be featured in a special display at the 2008 International CES held January 7-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The HD16D drives up to six A/V components from a single source. Each output is active buffered with its own high-bandwidth operational amplifier circuit. This ensures every distributed signal maintains accuracy with zero-tolerance signal degradation. The internal circuit also compensates for signal in-compatibility that often occurs between different brand A/V source components and displays. Proper DC blocking maintains signal level that would otherwise result in bleeding and variable color intensity over time. In addition, the HD16D features an Active Expansion Output capable of daisy-chaining multiple devices for larger installations. The Active Expansion Output uses active circuitry, not a passive simple loop-thru, ensuring that the same great picture quality is maintained at each output stage.  

The HD16D is built with heavy gauge sheet metal that protects the critical audio and video signals from radio-wave interference and EMI. Also, with proper grounding, the metal case protects against ESD and static shock. Using gold-plated RCA terminals and a gold plated printed circuit board (PCB), the HD16D is the ultimate in reliability and consistent performance.

New Environmentally-Friendly ERGPS Series Power Supplies to Be Packaged With All IR Kits

Sylmar, Calif. – November 7, 2007 – Xantech Corporation, a leading producer of innovative, reliable and problem-solving IR distribution products, announced today that the ERGPS: Energy Efficient Regulated Power Supplies, will now be packaged with all of the company’s IR Kits.

“The ERGPS energy efficient power supplies are every bit as reliable and robust as our power supplies have always been, but in addition will reduce electricity costs, and with so many Xantech installations being done, the environment will benefit from the lower energy consumption,” said Thu Le, brand manager at Xantech.

The ERGPS energy efficient regulated 12V DC power supplies will be packaged with all of the company’s IR Kits. Two models will be available for other IR based installations. The 781ERGPS will replace the legendary 781RG power supply that has been used in countless IR distribution installations while the 782ERGPS will replace the 782-00.

In addition, the ERGPS has two new features. The power supply is now packaged in a smaller form factor. This allows easier installation onto crowded power strips. The second new feature is a secure-fit plug that interfaces with all Xantech IR connecting blocks. A small indentation on the secure-fit plugs allows a tight and secure connection every time. This will reduce accidental disconnection which can result in installation headaches and service calls.

The ERGPS series is one in a series of Xantech’s many company-wide, environmentally conscious initiatives.

Users will have several options within the forum such as being able to attach pictures and zipped projects in posts and having the opportunity to receive email notifications when specific posts are replied to. Xantech has announced the integration of its award-winning MRC88 A/V Matrix Controller with HAI's OmniPro II and LuminaPro Home Control systems, which will allow users to control and monitor the status of multiple audio zones from an in-wall Touchscreen.

The MRC88, when managed through HAI's OmniTouch Touchscreen, can be controlled through an interface that resembles a standard Xantech keypad on screen. An HAI OmniTouch Touchscreen can control on/off, volume, muting, transports, audio source, and many other functions for each audio zone.

The integration will also give users the opportunity to fully-customize their home audio as programs can be written for specific applications. With HAI OmniTouch integration users can customize their music and home control experience. Imagine returning home to your favorite music playing, lights set to your desired levels, and temperature set to a cozy setting-just by disarming your alarm system.

Xantech Corporation has announced today the appointment of Claude Sabourin as the company's head of overseas sales. Sabourin brings with him a wealth of experience in the Asian and Pacific markets.

In his new role, Sabourin will oversee Xantech's sales efforts in Asia, South America and Canada and will establish new sales initiatives in the world's fastest growing markets such as Indonesia and China.

"Claude has a great deal of sales experience in the audio industry in both consumer and commercial electronics," said Graham Hallett, president of Xantech. "This is a mix we very much need in the underdeveloped CI markets around the world."

No stranger to the Asian markets, Sabourin spent over seven years working out of Taiwan. His experience spans two continents, having established effective sales teams, composed of distributors and representatives, throughout Canada, Asia and the United States.

Sabourin comes to Xantech via the Tymphany Corporation, where he served as the director of sales for Asia. During his year-long tenure, Sabourin created a dedicated sales team that helped open sales channels throughout the Asian markets.

Prior to his stint at Tymphany, Sabourin served as the vice president for sales at Phitek System where he set up global sales offices in Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and the USA.

Sabourin first ventured to Taiwan when he joined Apogee Technology as the director of sales for Asia and the Pacific. In his four years with Apogee, Sabourin's team generated a substantial portion of the company's business total business and set up production in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia and China.

Sylmar, Calif. – September 5, 2007 – Xantech Corporation, a leading producer of innovative, reliable and problem-solving custom installation signal processing and control systems, has introduced a solution that enables installers to distribute audio across a single CAT-5 cable, the company announced today. DIGI-5 technology, a Linear Home Technology Group technology, will enable installers and developers to realize substantial savings in wiring and cable costs, while still allowing double-digit Wattage.

“The difference in installation costs between standard 16/4 speaker wire and CAT-5 cable is like night and day,” explains Graham Hallett, Xantech’s president. “CAT-5 is available at just a fraction of the cost, and frequently comes preinstalled in newer homes. And when used with advanced digital amplifiers built into our keypads, the CAT-5 based distribution still transmits CD-quality sound.

CAT-5 cable was recently selling for 11.9 cents per foot from Home Depot, compared to the 32.6 cents per foot charged for 16/4 speaker wire, according to Xantech’s internal market research. For a typical multi-room system, this cuts wire installation in half.

The central distribution location consists of a 4 source, 4 zone hub. Xantech offers the hub in both equipment rack style and wall mount style. Additional zones can be added with an expansion equipment rack style hub or daisy-chaining wall mount style hubs. Local source wall plates can also be used to remove the limitations of a central distribution location and are perfect for portable consumer electronics. The Xantech HDMIEXTEND point-to-point extender extends high-definition displays up to 200 feet (60 meters) from the source at 1080i and extends high-definition displays up to 150 feet (45 meters) at 1080p. The Commercial Room Monitor – Web Intelligent Controller, or CRMWIC, is a stand-alone room controller which acts as the ‘glue’ between RS232 devices and the Commercial CSPLCD TouchPanel displays.

The Web Intelligent Controller comes with two RS232 ports (configurable for RS422 and RS485) and a single IP port. The event manager is capable of timed events, calendar events, telnet and serial events. The controller can also act as a full FTP site, Web server, and e-mail server.

“Xantech has always been about providing the best integrating solutions for the single room and building,” says Rick Seegull, Xantech’s Director of Business Development. “Demand was overwhelming for a single-room control unit that provides solutions, rather than additional challenges to the installer. Intelligence is key

Additionally, the CRMWIC can be used as a tremendously effective controller for a presentation system. SmartPad LCDs

XTC SPEAKERS
Developing a range of in wall speakers with the performance and quality our dealers and distributors have come to expect from Xantech was no easy task. Xantech has a reputation for innovation, high quality, high performance and perceived value in the market. The speaker project began three years ago and is now ready to introduce 16 new speaker models in June.

The original development goals of the speaker range were clear;
• Develop best of breed performance and sound quality
• Use only the best breed of premium materials and parts
• Develop a range of products that completes the Xantech systems but also can be connected to home theaters and other amplifiers
• Minimize the SKU count, maximize the solutions
• Apply out of the box thinking, and innovation to the category
• Invest extensive time to voice the speakers for the smoothest octave-to-octave balance, best imaging and great dynamic range.

The finished products evolved in to three distinct model ranges. XTC Reference, XTC and the value line called XC. The products are available as in-wall (rectangle), in-ceiling (round) and in-ceiling stereo configurations. There are speakers available with 5 ¼ inch woofers, 6 ½ inch woofers and 8 inch woofers. Every system speaker has pivoting tweeters that allow the dealer to fine tune the image and “sweet-spot” for every room and installation. Later in 2007, Xantech will launch outdoor speakers as well.

The innovations applied to the speakers are endless:
• Use of high density fiber board (wood, like a box speaker) baffles instead of plastic baffles drastically improves rigidity, reduces resonances in the wall or ceiling, improves dynamic range, punch, offers cohesive sound staging and a neutral balance more like a home speaker that comes in a wood box.
• Flexible impedance matching offers two positive taps, one for 8 ohms, one for 6 ohms. Perfect for use of two pair of the same speaker in the same zone maintaining a safe impedance for the amplifier.
• SoundPath™ – a method to minimize distortion caused by the bridge that supports the tweeters in front of the woofers on ceiling speakers.
• Use of Aluminum/Magnesium metal woofers with titanium voice coils to improve the sound and power handling of XTC Reference.
• Use of Ferro-Fluid, a damping grease infused with magnetic material to smooth the high frequency range and improve power handling on all speakers.
• More robust EZ lock tabs for secure mounting to the walls.
• Gold plated binding posts for improved connectivity of the speaker wire.
• Tri-Level equalization to simplify matching sound due to the placement in an undesirable room acoustics situation.

XTR39
The XTR39 is a stand-alone programmable remote control. Unlike other touch screen “remote controls” the XTR39 can be used with one hand and offers the end user incredible feel and balance with buttons and a vivid 3.9 brilliant color touch screen. This is perfect for the home theater environment. Installed template projects make set up quick and easy thanks to the comprehensive built-in database of IR control codes for most audio or video sources and televisions. Learning IR commands is also easy for older legacy components. The XTR39 can be combined with the RF2IR base station for advance, no-line-of-sight experience.

Integrate the XTR39 with Xantech Systems
The XTR39 can also be used as a wireless touch panel interface to Xantech’s best audio and audio/video distribution platforms, the MRC88 and the MRAUDIO8X8. Offering a Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the XTR39 that matches the in-wall LCD touch panels makes whole-house control of home entertainment or other systems very easy for the user to quickly transition back and forth between touch screen controllers. The XTR39 uses Xantech’s proprietary RC68 control codes to improve the reliability of control when used with a Xantech system.

RF2IR Base Station
When coupled with the RF2IR base station the reach and power of the XTR39 controller becomes endless. The RF2IR base station extends wireless control through walls beyond 100 feet. A single XTR39 can be coupled with up to 256 base stations which makes this a formidable control solution. Included are 4 routable emitters included or the integrated Blast IR can send commands to a stack of components. The RF2IR base station also enables the XTR39 to control a myriad of RS232 devices, like projectors, lighting controllers, plasma or LCD televisions with reliable discreet commands.
Simple Programming with Dragon 2.1

The XTR39 uses Xantech’s proprietary programming software, Dragon. Using the current version of Dragon 2.1 and the installed templates makes set up very quick and easy. Dragon 2.1 includes a set up Wizard which drives the customer through a series of questions about each device that the XTR39 needs to control. Dragon also empowers the installer or programmer with more advanced integration needs endless ways to customize and individualize each XTR39 for each client.

XMUSICW+

XANTECH HD VIDEO AND DIGITAL AUDIO
The new Xantech HD video and digital audio connectivity and distribution products are building blocks for a comprehensive range of stand alone components designed to distribute 780p or 1080i with digital audio to single or multiple televisions and/or home theater locations using CAT5 or coaxial cable.

TX/RX POINT TO POINT (HDTXS01/HDRXS01)
Using two runs of CAT5, the RX/TX are HD components that transmit and receive from a single J-Box and enable component video, digital audio and IR control of remotely located HD video sources connected to a single television using the built-in speakers in the television or a local home theater.

FOUR-IN/FOUR-OUT HD MATRIX SWITCHER (HD44)
The HD44 can be used as a home theater switcher when multiple sources need to be connected to a single television or a media room when multiple televisions are in one room and multiple HD sources need to be displayed on multiple screens.

The HD44 is also a four by four distribution amplifier which allows sharing the home theater source devices on multiple televisions in different locations using coaxial cable.

1000 FEET OF 1080i/720p HD VIDEO AND DIGITAL AUDIO ON A SINGLE CAT5 (HD44CC5)
The HD44C5 is a four by four matrix switcher and distribution amplifier with a pass-through so HD home theater components can be connected locally, but also distributed on a single CAT5 1000 feet away from the head end with no degradation to the picture or sound quality. Patent Pending Xantech circuitry eliminates expected distortion and noise over extended distances.

OTHER USEFUL TOOLS
HDCXSG01 is an inexpensive single gang J-Box passive Decora wall plate to be used with the HD44 or HD44CC5 to terminate component video and digital audio on coaxial cable.

The CPLTCX and the CPLCT are active digital signal converters used to change Toslink to co-ax and co-ax to Toslink enabling long runs of coaxial digital signals on lower cost cables.

The Xantech Audio Scaler (available Q3-2007) accepts any digital audio stream and converts it to left and right and analog audio. This is perfect for installations using the any of the HD distribution solutions from Xantech or any other brand when the built in speakers in the television are used for audio.
