DDS Digital Delivery System
Xantech’s award-winning DDS Digital Delivery System uses DIGI-5™ technology and Category-5 cabling to distribute high-performance audio throughout residential homes, condo/apartment complexes, hotels, restaurants, resorts, etc. DDS provides cleaner audio at louder listening levels than previous similar analog systems. Xantech’s award-winning DDS DIGI-5 Digital Delivery System will be on display during the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show at the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase, located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Grand Lobby. Also at the 2010 International CES, Xantech is expanding its DDS range with specific accessories and components for the European market.

The D5IP2 DDS local input plate with local power input allows a DDS zone to be powered locally to get full output power from a keypad’s digital Class-D amplifier. It is ideal for single-zone DDS installations common in retrofit residential and commercial environments. Like the D5IP wall plate, the D5IP2 provides switchable analog RCA and digital (coaxial and Toslink optical) inputs to enable an all-digital signal path — perfect for use with PCs, media servers and other digital audio devices.

The D5KPE DDS single gang European keypad is an all-new four-source Organic LED keypad design exclusively for European installations. The keypad fits one gang Legrand® and U.K. standard electrical back-boxes. It offers up to 48 Watts of audio output power using a pure-digital signal path for maximum performance and minimal distortion, and it features adjustable equalization and dynamic range control for matching any environment. A color change kit is available in Black, Ivory and Almond.

Multi-Room Audio/Video Amplifier/Controller and Controls
Xantech’s award-winning MRC88 Multi-Room A/V Controller/Amplifier is an eight-source, eight-zone A/V distribution amplifier that allows the control and distribution of eight separate source components to eight different zones, with the capacity to expand to up to sixteen zones of control and distribution. It allows control of source components through both RS232 and IR, and can be used with Xantech SmartPanel™ LCD Touchpanels as well as dedicated keypads.

Xantech expands its LCD Touchpanel offerings as it unveils a number of products with IP connectivity. Xantech SmartPanel™ LCD Touchpanels may be used separately as a controller for an entire residential or commercial system, or integrated with the MX88 amplifier/controller to unleash that components full flexibility and features in a multiroom environment. They allow users to control audio, video and other components from one high-resolution, durable professional-grade TFT display. Touchscreens generate RS-232, IR and IP commands for full integration into any system. These integrated units can be installed in hollow walls without a backbox. Touchpanels feature SD card slots for directly importing presentation media. New product offerings – each featuring Video Input and IP connectivity – include the SP43VIP 4.3-in Widescreen Touchpanel controller, the SP70VIP 7.0-in Widescreen Touchpanel controller and the SP100VIP 10.1-in Widescreen Touchpanel controller.

Installed Home Theater
Xantech’s new VDA51 Virtual Dolby® Decoder bridges the gap between multi-room audio and home theater. With the VDA51 in-line in a zone, a pair of in-wall or ceiling speakers becomes a surround-sound theater through Dolby Virtual surround. The VDA51 takes a digital SPDIF output and delivers analog audio with virtual surround to any zone. It offers the perfect solution for master bedrooms and family rooms, where the theater surround experience is desirable but five speakers are not. When a Dolby Digital stream is present, the unit encodes the analog output with Dolby Virtual Speaker surround information, creating a virtual surround effect from only two in-wall or ceiling speakers. Dolby Virtual fine tuning selector lets the installer choose Wide or Reference decoding (each setting a different level of surround processing and perceived surround effect).

VDA51 Features:
- Accepts digital signal (Dolby Digital and PCM) from a source, and outputs it as analog left and right audio.

Held during show hours on February 2, 3 and 4, the free seminars are open to all attendees of ISE 2010, and they can sign up for most sessions directly when they register for the show.

The Xantech seminars include:
New 2010 Products — In this seminar, Xantech’s Senior Product Manager Thu Le addresses the residential and commercial opportunities for custom integrators with multi-room audio, video and control installations. Xantech is introducing products that will support these opportunities and help custom integrators deliver smart, quality system integration. New products covered include Multi-room Audio/Video Distribution; IP Based Control Systems; Touchpanels; and Keypads. The course is targeted for Distributors and Consultants, and it is also relevant for Commercial, Designer, Installer and Project Managers.

Digital Delivery System — Sean Barton, Xantech Training and Marketing Communications Manager, gives an overview of the Xantech Digital Delivery System, a simple, elegant high-performance multi-room audio solution incorporating digital amplification, an all-digital signal path and multi-source keypads. Installers that attend this course will learn how the system works, its benefits over current solutions in the industry, and installation best practices. The Xantech Digital Delivery System uses Category-5 wiring for cost-effective, easy installation. This course is targeted for Distributors, Dealers and Resellers, and is also directly relevant to Commercial, Designer, Installer and Project Managers.

Commercial Application Overview — Rick Seegull, Xantech Director of Business Development, discusses how Custom Integrators need cost-effective and versatile products that will fit the needs of their commercial clients and build a reputation for quality, reliable installations. This course provides an introduction to Xantech Commercial products and their applications, including Hotel/Hospitality A/V Distribution and Control, Conference Room/Classroom Control, and Digital Signage Control solutions. Participants will learn an overview of the product applications, including Wireless Remotes/Touchpanels; Room controllers for web/network-based systems; and Multi-Zone Audio/Video Distribution. This seminar is targeted for Distributors, Dealers, and Resellers, and is also relevant for Commercial, Designer, Installer and Project Managers.

Programming with Universal Dragon and QuickConfig — Taught by Xantech Senior Product Manager Thu Le, in this course, participants will learn the tools to program Xantech Multi-Room A/V Distribution products: the Universal Dragon software application and QuickConfig. Universal Dragon is the software application that programmers use to configure Xantech products, including the MRC88m, SPLCD touchpanels and others. The software is designed with a user-friendly interface and tools to help reduce programming time during the installation. QuickConfig enables an installer to activate a high-end A/V system using only system keypads and touchpanels, eliminating hours of PC programming. Since this course will focus on practical application of the software, programmers and installers are highly encouraged to attend.

WIC1200 Programming — Xantech Director of Business Development Rick Seegull will teach participants about the critically acclaimed Xantech WIC1200, a stand-alone room controller for web/network-based systems. Participants will learn examples on system programming and system design best practices. The WIC1200 is a stand-alone room controller for networked/web-based control featuring two IR Ports, two Serial Ports, two Contact Closure ports and two Digital I/O ports, as well as two Ethernet ports (one with POE) for TCP/IP telnet control with less intrusion into facility IP networks. The Event Manager is capable of Timed Events, Calendar Events, Telnet and Serial Events and features a full FTP site, Web Server and Email Server. When used as a Room Controller for a presentation system, the Web-Intelligent Controller can automatically turn the projector OFF if left on, check Bulb Life (and, if low, email the IT or A/V specialist responsible) and sense and control IR components, as well as Screen drops and Projector lifts. The course is targeted for Distributors, Dealers and Resellers, and is also relevant for Commercial, Designer, Installer and Project Managers.

QuickConfig software lets installers do all programming of sources and zones directly via the MRC88m’s keypad or SPLCD Touchscreen. Sources can include Xantech audio/video components or those from other manufacturers. QuickConfig also easily configures sources that have metadata, so information such as song title, artist and genre is clearly displayed.

Unlike other installation/configuration software of this caliber, absolutely no separate PC is required, and the software itself requires no special training for the installer. It is extremely intuitive and straightforward, guiding the installer one-by-one through the system components and manufacturer codes, much like programming a universal remote control device. The software is also a great time-saver, requiring far less set-up and configuration time than other protocols, and no additional time needs to be spent mastering the software.

With QuickConfig, the MRC88m is usable out of the box, and with this efficient yet comprehensive programming, a far wider range of installers can confidently offer this type of product, therefore adding services for installers to offer their customers. SYLMAR, CA, October 1, 2009 — Following its unveiling and overwhelmingly positive industry response at InfoComm 2009, Xantech Corporation, a leader in the field of audio/video remote control and distribution for 40 years, is now shipping its new WIC1200 Web Intelligent Controller. The WIC1200 is a stand-alone room controller for networked/web-based control featuring two IR Ports, two Serial Ports, two Contact Closure ports and two Digital I/O ports as well as two Ethernet ports (one with POE) for TCP/IP telnet control with less intrusion into facility IP networks.

On its own, the Web Intelligent Controller is an Event-driven component with two RS232 ports (configurable for RS422/485 and RS232 for control via Xantech or third-party units by AMX™, Crestron® and others) and two IP ports. The Event Manager is capable of Timed Events, Calendar Events, Telnet and Serial Events and features a full FTP site, Web Server and Email Server.

Used as a Room Controller for a presentation system, the Web-Intelligent Controller can automatically turn the projector OFF if left on, check Bulb Life (and, if low, email the IT or A/V specialist responsible) and sense and control IR components, as well as Screen drops and Projector lifts.

When interfaced with Xantech’s CSPLCD Commercial Touch Panel Display or XTR39 Wireless RF Remote, the WIC1200 Web Intelligent Controller can send messages back to the Touch-Panel allowing for Text Display, Numeric Display, Volume and Indicator bars, ON/OFF indicators and more, for full real-time data display. The IP port allows each room to be accessible on the facilities IP network for Status display, remote centralized control and remote diagnostics.

XANTECH PRODUCTS CHOSEN FOR STATE-OF-THE-ART TRAINING ROOMS FOR THE SARASOTA OFFICE OF FCCI INSURANCE GROUP

SYLMAR, CA, May 20, 2009 — The corporate headquarters and Florida Regional Office of FCCI Insurance Group (FCCI) in Sarasota, Florida, recently upgraded three of its training/conference rooms with state-of-the-art high-tech solutions from Xantech Commercial, a global leader in the field of audio/video remote control and distribution for 40 years. The installation was completed by Largo, Florida-based Technical Resource Group (TRG).

FCCI’s Sarasota office/corporate headquarters has three meeting rooms specifically designated for teleconferencing, group collaboration and corporate training. In the past, FCCI rented racks of wireless microphones from TRG for various functions and meetings. This relationship prompted FCCI to contact TRG System Design/Engineer Keith Gilliam to discuss the organization’s expanding media needs. FCCI was searching for a system that would be flexible enough to accommodate different and changing technical needs. Since various trainers and employees use the rooms, it was imperative that the new system be easy to use. The new A/V system was designed around a centrally located equipment rack, providing each training room with its own control system with access to the equipment rack via the Xantech CSPLCD39GW Commercial Touchscreen Display, Xantech CRMWIC Commercial Room Monitor/Web Intelligent Controller modules and Xantech IPRS23202 Xtralink IP modules.

The system also consists of six Sennheiser EW100 series wireless microphones with antenna distribution, which can be configured to any room via the Biamp AudiaFLEX with a Volume/Select 8 wall panel in each room. Each room is equipped with an Eiki LCD or DLP Projector, permanently mounted, transporting video over CAT5 protocol to the Analog Way QVP421 video switchers for each room. Two of the training rooms incorporate ceiling microphones for teleconferencing from the Biamp AudiaFLEX Digital Signal Processor System, which consists of various inputs, outputs and the teleconferencing modules.

Gilliam stated, “The Xantech CRMWIC and LCD Panels were the most logical answer to pull all these different pieces of equipment together and make the system easy for the trainers and other personnel to use. Rick Seegull of Xantech was a great help to Technical Resource Group, consulting on the functionality requirements of the room and offering the best Xantech solution for the application. The ability to program much of the CRMWIC from TRG’s offices remotely – an hour and half away from the client – was a definite bonus.”

Everything within the system is on the LAN Network and the CRMWIC, making it virtually a plug-and-play installation. The trainers are able to control the projectors, video switchers, digital signal processor, teleconferencing and room setup via the CRMWIC and the Xantech LCD Touch Screen Panel, triggering each programmed event.

Gilliam: “FCCI’s employees like the web interface and the timed events powering down the projectors at the end of the day and warming the projectors up before training sessions, as well as the one-touch room setup presets for each training room. The setup time for each training session is now next-to-nothing. The trainer/presenters can arrive and connect their laptops at the beginning of the session and set up the room configuration from the LCD Panel/CRMWIC, and everything is ready. And the trainers have the ability to dial the Teleconferencing sessions from the LCD Panels. A true all-in-one panel!”
